  • Further aggravating a disrupted sleep cycle, is the addition of what are coined "road pops". Habit of some shiftworkers to consume alcohol and drugs immediately following end of shifts. The reasoning usually given is that " I need it to unwind before I go home". Difficulty in monitoring, only when workplace areas including parking lots are not using recorded surveillance. Going home safe means actually arriving, not just surviving the workplace.
